Anthony McCall – Vertical Works

I was taken to see this in the P3 gallery as part of a kind of school trip late last week. P3 is a large warehouse type space behind Westminster University’s Baker Street campus.

In near complete darkness four films are projected from the ceiling onto the floor below. All four films are made up of curved, slowly moving lines.

A haze machine catches the beams making a large light sculpture. I could have spent all day there. Without wanting to trivialise what McCall does…I kind of wish Moustache bar had lighting like that.
