Auntie Flo – Goan Highlife – H&P001 – Out Now

Our friends at Huntley & Palmers Audio Club have started a record label. Behind the first release is one Auntie Flo, the production alias of Glasgow (by way of Goa) based DJ Brian d’Souza. Already receiving support from the likes of Ricardo Villalobos and JD Twitch, the two tracks recall the synthesised Afro-Funk of William Onyeabor updated with nods to the likes of Caribou, the UK bass continuum and Matias Aguayo’s Comeme imprint along the way.

The vinyl is out now in limited supplies – head here to purchase a copy of your own.

Meanwhile the second release – also from Auntie Flo – is already receiving props from the likes of Ben UFO & T.Williams. You can preview it below.

Andrew of H&P will be joining me this Thursday at Momo’s for a free evening of music. Info here.
